Celebs give away millions to help. The government and non-profits do their part. But where is the church when it comes to social injustice? Are we all too afraid to get uncomfortable? If you’ve ever considered that your faith in Christ and your concern for the poor and suffering go hand-in-hand, then reclaim the mission!

This study will guide you to examine the character of God, explore the true condition of the world, uncover misconceptions about poverty, and learn how to use the power of the Holy Spirit. By offering practical ways to make that impact and providing a biblical link between evangelism and social action, you and your small group will understand what God wants His followers to do for “the least of these.”

Todd Phillips

Todd Phillips is the teaching pastor of Frontline, a generational church-within-a-church at McLean Bible Church near Washington, D.C., with more than 3,000 young adults attending weekly at four campuses. His two passions are sharing the message of Christ with “pre-Christians” and encouraging his generation with the reality that Jesus is a tangible and involved Savior. Todd earned a Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is pursuing his Doctorate of Ministry at Princeton Theological Seminary. He is the author of Spiritual CPR: Reviving a Flat-lined Generation and Get Uncomfortable. A transplanted Texan, Todd lives in Sterling, Virginia, with his wife ,Julie, and their three children.
