How would you describe what you do at LifeWay?
I teach young adults as well as train those who do young adult ministry. I also get the privilege of networking and collaborating with ministry leaders around the country. Throw writing somewhere in that mix, too. In short - teach, train, write, build relationships, travel, and anything else that can direct this generation towards Christ.
Why do you like being on the Threads team?
We have a joint, unifying vision to see young adults know God intimately. There is a very authentic camaraderie that exists between the team. We're regular, everyday folks that try to use our different gifts to glorify Him. We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we do recognize the importance of what He's called us to do.
If you could make up your own title for your job, what would it be?
I don't know, really. Maybe something with "pastor" or "minister" in it. I'm ordained, went to seminary, and served on church staff for several years. But to keep it simple, let's go with, "teacher/trainer/writer guy." If this doesn't work, then I can always default back to Jokey Smurf.
