Jeremy Rochford—Resolution Christianity

by Sam O'Neal on January 02, 2012

Editor’s note: So many of us view the beginning of January as a time to make promises for improvement and change — regardless of whether we have a plan for keeping them. In this video, Jeremy Rochford takes a deeper look at the phenomenon of New Year’s Resolutions and their connection with our spiritual lives.

Man, this is so true. I’ve done the same thing with my faith almost every year. Thanks for the encouragement to challenge some of the patterns I fall into, here’s to a great 2012!

I am a 42yr old worship leader and teacher of the word to our young adult ladies at our church and I was so touched and challenged by what you had to say. I will be sharing this with them on Sunday and challenge them as you challenged me to live better today than I did yesterday and if I’m so blessed to open my eyes again tomorrow I will live it better than I do today. Be blessed young man and keep on bringing things to life for our young and old alike!

This is so true and so needed. One of the things that I love about jeremy and what he does and is doing here as well is that he is real. He tells people like it is and does NOT hold back. I think this is awesome because I know in my life i need people to be straight up with me and i think that I am not the only one. This is great.

And I think that the idea of living each day better than the last is an absolutely amazing way of thinking. this is going to be a new idea/thought/resolution for me. this is a great thought and I need it and hopefully other people will realize that they do too.

Great post!!! keep them coming!!!

Great thoughts, Jeremy! I’ve been through the frustrating cycle of failed resolutions many times. The older I get, the more I realize that I will not accidentally achieve my goals. It will take deliberate and continuous action on my part. And even with that, I can’t do it alone. And I wasn’t created to.
