Jaded: the Beginning of Healing
Many people set out to write Bible studies with a specific purpose in mind. When I wrote Jaded it really was not a result of any premeditated purpose of trying to convince people that I had the answers. Rather, it was a culmination of a journey that God had brought me through.
Love Plus Commitment Equals Community
The word “community” is thrown around quite a bit these days. We talk about creating it and building it, like it is some kind of mystical place we reach at the end of a journey. Let me de-mystify it for you. Community is all about commitment and how deeply you love people.
Presence, Not Programs
Some of our greatest ministry may not be found in the programs of our church, but rather in our presence in the lives of people. While God can use our programs, we must not lose sight of all the opportunities for ministry that exist within the everyday lives of people.
Leaving the Questions
There was a time when I feared the questions. Any raised had to have an easily definable (if not clearly apparent) answer waiting in the shadows. The problem with the “Only Questions With Answers” mentality of teaching is that it holds little water in the face of today’s young adults.
