Lost and Found book cover

Lost and Found is a blend of dynamic hard data and modern day parable that tells the real story of an unchurched generation that is actually quite spiritual and yet circumspect, open to Jesus but not the church. As such, Lost and Found is written to the church, using often-surprising results from the copious research here to strike another nerve and break some long established assumptions about how to effectively engage the lost.

Studies

While college students will be able to connect with any Threads study, we think the following work particularly well for this life stage.

Collegiate

We have freshened the look and sharpened the focus of this quarterly Bible study resource for college students.

Collegiate provides a refreshing combination of Bible study and feature articles centered on biblical truth and issues relevant to college students. With biblical depth and practical advice for the realities of daily life, students will be challenged to study God's Word, make a difference in the world, and deepen their walk with Christ.

Chase the Lion

Our current Christian culture doesn’t usually encourage sensible people to chase after risky opportunities and dreams. We want to believe that if it’s a good decision, it will always be and feel safe because that’s the way God wants life to be. But what if you discovered that the fulfilling life God wants for you is hiding behind a present problem, a past failure, or a lifelong fear?

Inspired by a fearless warrior named Benaiah (2 Sam. 23:20) who changed the course of his future by winning a battle with a real lion, this six-session Bible study expands the message of Mark Batterson’s best-selling book In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day.

Connect the Dots

We treat God like a cosmic slot machine or a Magic 8-ball. We want to drop in a coin or shake things around until we get the answers we want for our life questions. Although questions about the “Big Three”—marriage, career, and residency—are important, maybe discovering God’s will for your life is more about answering His questions than Him answering yours.

Formulas and equations aside, this Bible study is a guide for journeying through what it means to find God’s will in the way He intended.

Get Uncomfortable

Celebs give away millions to help. The government and non-profits do their part. But where is the church when it comes to social injustice? Are we all too afraid to get uncomfortable? If you’ve ever considered that your faith in Christ and your concern for the poor and suffering go hand-in-hand, then reclaim the mission!

This study will guide you to examine the character of God, explore the true condition of the world, uncover misconceptions about poverty, and learn how to use the power of the Holy Spirit. By offering practical ways to make that impact and providing a biblical link between evangelism and social action, you and your small group will understand what God wants His followers to do for “the least of these.”

Repurposed

Nehemiah heard about the devastation of the city and people of God ... and he acted. In 52 days he accomplished the remarkable feat of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. But in doing so, he repurposed the project so that it wasn’t just about building a wall of protection around the holy city. As the walls went up, Nehemiah rebuilt a community of faith, compassion, and hope.

Across the spiritual landscape of the 21st century, the walls are down again. Statistics reveal that many in the modern church are cynical, jaded, and disenfranchised. But this five-session study of the book of Nehemiah can provide lasting principles to rebuild our communities of faith as well.
