Reasoning with Hurricane Season
First, Gustav. Then, Hannah, Now, Ike. Our Threads events team is thinking that maybe the best time for Connect Conferences is not August and September. Last week, we were looking hurricane tracking models trying to figure out whether we should adjust the Connect Conference in Charlotte.
Now, we’re looking at the same things when it comes to Ike and our Connect Conference in Jackson, Miss. As of right now, we’re on track to hold Connect in Jackson as scheduled this Thursday and Friday. We just want you to know we are monitoring the weather closely and will be in touch with everyone registered for Connect in Jackson if anything should need to change. As of right now, we’re preparing for a great event on Thursday and Friday in Jackson with some great speakers and information for you.
Nothing dampened the fun we had in Charlotte at Carmel Baptist Church. Hannah politely waited until after we finished up on Friday to barely throw a little rain at Charlotte. We had a great host in Rob Kelly, the young adult pastor at Carmel, and we made a great group of new friends. Todd Phillips and Margaret Feinberg did a fantastic job with their main sessions and breakouts, and Margaret’s husband Leif went over and beyond the call of duty in helping us out in a variety of ways. Now, it’s on to Jackson. We’re looking forward to it!
