Slashed Tires…
Hypothetically speaking….What would you do if a friend asked you to pick up their car and keep it at your house for a week? Over the course of this week, they have given you permission to drive their car if you like. Now, you must understand that they have a much nicer car than you do and to be honest, you are tempted to drive it frequently. However, you exercise self control and only drive the car twice: once to get coffee and another time to get dinner.
Again hypothetically speaking…What if at some point while your friends car is either parked at your house or in the parking lot of a restaurant last night, one of their tires gets slashed? Would you feel responsible? Should you offer to replace the tire, even though the flat tire was not a result of user error?
Of course I would be interested in your thoughts, so I could compare them to what I would do in such a hypothetical situation.

Hypothetically, I would probably offer to, knowing that my good friend would, hypothetically, never really make me pay for something that was, hypothetically, out of my control. Although, hypothetically, if I really offered such and he didn’t refuse I would be ‘up the creek,’ so to speak, and would go ahead & pay for the replacement, because, after all, isn’t a friendship worth more than a tire? (Hypothetically speaking, of course - because where would you actually be able to swap a tire for a friend, anyway?)

My only comment to this is you boys crack me up. And Chris what in the world are you doing functioning at a computer at 4:49 in the morning?

I’m not functioning that early. Looks like it’s posting the server time (which for some strange reason is off) - it was actually like 5:30am (yeah, I know - that’s a whole lot better).

Friend or not. If I use someone else’s property or possession: I automatically take full responsiblity to what happens to it while in my care. I would replace the tire or give money to them for the replacement of it. No doubt about it. Just because they are your friends do not give me the right to treat them any different in any circumstances. God Bless you all!
