Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Distribution in the Dominican Republic

by Jenny Williams on February 10, 2009

Here is a video message I recorded last night. I will post again and tell you all about our first distributions today. If you have an OCC story, I would love to hear about it here on the blog. Thanks for the prayers!

It’s great to see you guys showing support for such a great cause. It’s ironic because about two weeks ago, a guy came to our church and shared some great stories about how God has touched and helped so many people through OCC.

David, thank you for the encouragement! We just met for dinner and the National Leadership Team here in the DR was telling some incredible stories about how the follow-up discipleship program is impacting the youth in this country. We had an amazing day, I’ll be posting about it in the morning. What church do you attend? Have a great night!

I was so excited to see this blog show up on my facebook this evening, as my mother (Teresa Waggoner) is on this trip for the first time! I cannot wait for her to come home, just so I can hear the amazing stories I know she will have from each day!! I wish we were all there with her to experience this! May God bless each and every person on this trip and the many children & families being impacted this week!

@Jenny FBC Martin,TN The guy that spoke was actually one of my friends grandfather. He works as a missionary and is planning on going back South Africa in July. He has a great story!

Can’t wait to hear a full report tomorrow!

Jenny, So glad to see your blog and anxious to hear how the first day of distribution went. 9 of my friends from the Mid- Atlantic region are on this trip as well as many OCC “family” and friends from across the country. You are all in my prayers many times a day during this week. So anxious to hear all the great stories being told of the God moments that are sure to happen on this trip. We had our share of them in Peru last year and I know God will work in mighty ways for you all as well. Be blessed and continue to spread the Love of Christ wherever you go.

I too have a friend on this trip and I know she’s surrounded by prayer - as is the rest of this team! Have a great week and may God bless the work you are doing in sharing Christ! What a message in a simple shoe box!

Jenny I was also in the Dominican helping giving out shoeboxes while the leadership team was there. If I had to say just one thing I learned while there it would be that Gods love has no language barrier

Hey Paul, I agree, being on an OCC trip was a beautiful way to experience that truth.
