One Final Question

by Chad Jordan on February 20, 2008 to the LifeMatters blog

I want to wrap up this first issue of LifeMatters and our study into evangelism with one question. I got this question from a very famous non-Christian, but it is probably the most important question found in the Bible. In Matthew 27:22, Pilate asked the crowd, “What should I do then with Jesus, who is called Messiah?” I found this question as I was reading a book I found in the library of my, kind of, adopted grandmother. I am not sure why, but this question really hit home for me, especially after this study on evangelism. Take some time and personalize this question this week. I worked from home last Friday, and spent the better part of the day exploring this question and its application to my life. I thought I was settling in for a good cup of coffee and some reading when this question jumped off the page. Our entire study into evangelism can be summed up with this one question. Send out an e-mail to your class this week and ask them the same question Pilate asked. Then this Sunday morning, discuss this question as a class. What are you doing individually with Jesus? What are you doing as a class? What does your life say the answer to this question is? What’s next? In light of this question, what in my life needs to change?

Well, one issue is in the books. I know with change there is always an adjustment period, and my hope and prayer is that this study is leading you and your class into better study of His Word. I have received a good amount of feedback on LifeMatters, but more is always welcomed. If this study is working for you, let us know. E-mail me with what is working and why it is working for your community. If the transition is not going as well, let me know that also. We all have the same objective—well most of us do—and that is to communicate in the most effective way so that young adults can interact with the truth of God’s Word. I know for some the interactive nature of this study has been different. Let me know how things are going in your class. E-mail me at LifeMatters@LifeWay.com.
