Meet Threads Newbie Lauren Farmer
Hey Threads readers,
Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself …
My name is Lauren Farmer, and I’m the newest addition to the Threads team. As an event coordinator, my primary role will be dreaming-up, planning, and making Threads events happen. We’re already working on several new events for 2010 and 2011 that I’m thrilled to be a part of. Seriously exciting stuff. In addition to events, I’ll be helping out with some regional trainings and attending more than a few meetings of various kinds with my fantastic coworkers.
A few things you should know about me:
I’m from Tennessee (Knoxville, to be exact) and I’m not afraid to claim it. I love football and all things Tennessee Volunteer orange (including the Vols Snuggie I got as a Christmas present this year). Can you guess where I went to college? Traveling, spending time with my friends and family, and curling up with a good book are some of my favorite things in the world. I have a serious addiction to Pepsi One and Peppermint Patties. Food touching, birds, and mustaches generally freak me out. The thought of wasting my life freaks me out, too. Since finishing seminary a little over a year ago, I’ve been learning that life isn’t as cut and dry as I once thought it was. I want to make a difference in the world and in the lives of people around me. I want to live for God, not myself (easier said than done). Bottom line, I don’t want to waste my life. I’m sure you don’t either. That’s why I’m so excited to be a part of the Threads team and the journey you and I are on as young adults and Christ-followers.
