Love is Worth the Fight
BeachReach, Threads’ Spring Break service project, is right around the corner! One of our college ministry friends, Lanae Hale, has been touring campuses this spring. We’re excited to offer you a free download of her song, Love is Worth the Fight.
Lanae’s personal notes about the story behind the song:
It’s easy to create a life full of distraction and business, but not as easy to create a life full of love. The song, Love is Worth the Fight, came from a place of realizing that we so often run from the most important thing in life—love! We immerse our lives in anything and everything so as to avoid the “risk” involved in reaching out and letting someone within our walled fortress we like to call our heart. As an artist, it’s especially easy to allow the art of the career and the countless days on the road become a companion. It is quickly found, however, that although success and excitement may flourish, it some how seems empty without someone to share it with. Love is there to protect and hold on days that seem too difficult to face alone. Love is there to encourage and enliven on the days that one may feel the weight of defeat. Love is a rock, rooted in the commitment that withstands the torrents of life that so often overthrow the insecure and detached. I have found that even though it takes time, work and commitment, love is definitely worth fighting for!
