Connect
Over the course of this month, we’re going to explore the benefits of balanced spiritual growth in our lives. We’ll begin with the concept of connection to others, and then look at growing in our relationship with God, serving our church, and going out into the world with the gospel. We were created for community. Let’s begin there.
As you prepare for Sunday, think about this question: What makes community so important? Share your thoughts with us!

Community is fellowship and support. Your community whether it is family, friends or your church family is an important part of your life. They are there for you and help you. Community is so important. I moved for my previous job. I had not friends there or family. I had no community. I did not have a good experience without a community. My co-workers didn’t even welcome into their community. I was so glad to go back home to my support system. Community is so important.

Our church is beginning a young adult Sunday School class using lifematters. This lesson on community is very fitting for us since we are establishing it for the first time. I have been visiting churches for almost a year and one of the main things I was searching for was community and connection. How funny that the Lord led me to a church where this was missing and what I realized is the church is not what it can do for me, but what I can do for the church. I knew from past experience that attending Sunday school makes going to church a more intimate place and without it, you feel empty and disconnected. So, we are making community for young adults important and see what the Lord does with us.
