BeachReach 2009 in Review
Collegiate Staffer Heather Manning road tripped down to Panama City Beach last March to experience the round-the-clock fun that is BeachReach. She captured the people, places, and pancakes in hopes of inspiring you, our faithful readers, to follow in her footsteps and get down there for Spring Break 2010.

Prayer requests stream in via text each night as students meet Spring Breakers in the vans, on the beach, and on the strip. In ‘09, 91 people made first-time decisions to accept Christ.

Grass-roots advertising let Spring Breakers know about daily FREE pancake breakfasts. Yum! (See the “walking pancake” in this photo.)

Students provide free rides into the wee hours of the morning. At BeachReach ‘09, they gave 13,441 people a ride over 15 days.

Where the magic happens … the kitchen. At BeachReach ‘09, students and volunteers served 12,371 people breakfast over 12 days. That’s a lotta batter … and butter … and syrup.

Director Angel Ellis gives the daily updates. There’s a lot to know.

The nocturnal BeachReach staff finally gets to the beach to catch some rays. The hard work pays off …

I need to contact Angel Ellis or someone in charge of Beach Reach. My name is Terry Barner and I am a photojournalist at The News Herald in Panama City, Fla. I would like to produce a video for our newspaper’s web site and follow a team of college students as they minister each night by giving van rides. Is Wednesday evening ok? Sincerely, Terry Barner 850-774-0095
