April Showers Bring May … Weddings?
Before the month of April could hardly make an entrance, my mailbox was already stuffed full of wedding invitations for late spring/early summer. While scrambling to enter these dates onto my calendar, I realized that marriage might just be among the most beautiful things birthed by the spring season. In a culture where marriages often fall apart before they even begin, God’s Word on the subject of marital responsibility has never been more crucial or relevant.
As we continue this month’s study of “I (Still) Do,” don’t miss the importance of how fulfilling God-given responsibilities can strengthen marriages. Whether you’re already married, single, dating, engaged, or still seeking God’s best mate, it’s important to understand the role of real submission, love, honor, and respect in the marital relationship. As you will study in this week’s lesson, Paul addressed these very topics, and Jesus demonstrated them.
What does it mean to “love and cherish” in the marital relationship? According to Scripture, what is your responsibility as a husband or wife? How can you model the selfless love Christ has for His church in your marital relationship?
