I’m generally not a dog-lover, but there’s a lot we can learn from “man’s best friend” when it comes to loyalty. One thing I often observe from those who love their dogs is that they seem to find a genuine companionship or trust that’s different from human relationships. Maybe it’s because you can tell your dog those deepest, darkest secrets, knowing he will never tell (unless your dog is the Bush’s baked beans dog, and then the secret’s out). Or maybe it’s because no matter how disloyal you are toward your dog, he will always come when you call, wagging his tail in excitement to see his master.

I’m good at doing nothing, real good in fact. That’s why I like this quote so much. It’s a constant reminder that moving forward is always the right direction. The moment you stop or become complacent with your current situation is the moment you begin to fall.

We roamed around the streets of Nashville, asking people what one word changed their lives. From serious to seriously funny, we found that there’s a lot of power behind even the most average of words.

This is one of those lessons that’s easy to write and easy to read. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to live. Reading about difficult times and preparing for difficult times is easy to do, but standing up in the middle of those times and trusting God…not so much.

In this “buffet” of life, we can make wise, healthy choices or no choices at all. In the latter case we either go hungry or we overload our plates to the point of sickness. Like a good dietician or personal trainer, we need God’s direction in choosing what’s best for us.
